Application of Finite Element Method to Create a Digital Elevation Model

چکیده

The generation of a topographical surface or digital elevation model for given set points in space is known problem civil engineering and topography. In this article, we propose simple efficient way to obtain the terrain by using structural shell finite element model, giving advice on how implement it. proposed methodology does not need large number define terrain, so it especially suitable be used with data provided manual tools. Several examples are developed demonstrate easiness accuracy methodology. real landscape modeled different numbers (from 49 400) regular mesh randomly generated cloud points. results compared, showing creates sufficiently accurate even low (compared thousands handled LiDAR representation). A case application also shown. As an appendix, sample code generate provided.
